Hans van Velzen, Netherlands 2016

I am very pleased to introduce the very talented Dutch luthier Hans van Velzen to the UK.

Hans studied for six years with renowned Belgian luthier Walter Verreydt from whom he learned about the early 20th C Barcelona luthier Enrique Garcia. Hans was so taken with the guitars of Garcia that he determined to construct his guitars as closely as possible to these marvellous instruments from the golden age of Spanish lutherie. This particular guitar is constructed following study of the 1917 Garcia no 187

The guitar has everything the guitarist requires for concert playing. Plenty of power and volume, excellent tone over the whole fretboard and retaining a broad,strong tone when playing pianissimo.
