We are very pleased to welcome young Scottish luthier Mark Burnet to our ever growing list of wonderful luthiers. Mark first learned the art of luthier from Bill Kelday and Michael Ritchie at the Stringed Instrument course at Anniesland College in Glasgow. After that he had a year of one to one tuition with Michael Ritchie in his workshop learning the finer aspects of the Granada style of lutherie. Wanting to enhance his skills even further he attended the internationally renowned Instrument making school 'Centrum voor Muziekinstrumentenbouw' in Puurs, Belgium. Here he was tutored by among others Walter Verreydt.
All of his extensive training has resulted in this remarkable spruce top guitar. It is built with a Bouchet plantilla and bracing influenced by Michael Ritchie. It is very light and responsive with great clarity of voices, plenty of power and a sweet tone. We are looking forward to receiving a similar guitar with a cedar top in due course and can look froward to many more excellent guitars coming our way.
